Regions, Culture, Innovation: smart cities and sustainability with “ArtLab 13”

From the September 24th to 28th “ArtLab13” takes place in Lecce, candidate city for the European Capital of Culture. It is the meeting where cultural world dialogues with over one hundred among specialists and stakeholders from Italy and Europe. The programme of the 8th edition focuses on three key concepts: Regions, Culture and Innovation.

Networking moments, conferences, seminars, training activities and face to face conversations with advisers are organized in three main paths:
Innovation and sustainability. Transform the organizations and build the future. Nine dates to innovate cultural organizations through alternative financial tools, other management models, new skills. In search of different way to sustainability.
Participation and social innovation. Out of the box: new responsibilities, other audiences. Engaging the audience and making it active part of an artistic project, cultural initiatives addressed to people who can not access arts & culture, cultural organizations working as facilitators of social innovation are the issues of these seven events.
Smart cities. Active citizens for smart regions. Could culture make a region smarter? A dialogue among European and Italian experiences as well as the mayors of various Italian cities candidates for the European Capital of Culture, with the participation of the local citizens.

ArtLab13 gathers the Italian cultural community in Lecce, but its perspective is European. That’s why it includes four international events on Friday 27th Sept:
