ALTERENERGY Project at Renexpo Fair: Business to Business meeting in Serbia

The Strategic Project ALTERENERGY – thanks to a partnership of 18 organizations, regions, ministries and energy agencies belonging to all the countries of the Adriatic area – will be part of the Fair “RENEXPO® Western Balkans” (Beograd, BelExpocentar, 22 and 23 April 2015), the most important event on renewables in Serbia for investors, decision makers, ministries representatives and municipal authorities, as well as business leaders from renewable energy sectors.

In particular, during the first day, the Mediterranean Department of Puglia Region (lead partner) will organize the focus session “The Adriatic context for the internationalization of SMES in RES and RUE sector” (h. 10.00 – 12.00), in cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Mining and Energy and the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Bari and the Internationalization Department of Puglia Region. Milos Banjac (Assistant Minister – Serbian Ministry of Mining and Energy), Bernardo Notarangelo (Director of Mediterranean Department – Puglia Region) and Marco Leone (Director of Economic and Commercial Office - Italian Embassy in Serbia) will open up the focus session, before the presentation of ALTERENERGY Business and Investment support activities and the national RES/RUE framework at Country Level.

Later, Business to Business meetings will follow between companies and investors: about 100 enterprises involved into a dedicated Project training, in fact, will have the opportunity to increase their internationalization potential in renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors and to replicate the experience in Bari (Puglia Region, between May and June 2015) during other dedicated BtoB meetings.

The two sessions of BtoB meetings, planned in Serbia and in Puglia Region, aim to develop an Adriatic Market of technologies, goods and services for RES/RUE sector, involving small and medium enterprises coming from the following Countries: Italy (Abruzzo, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Molise, Puglia, Veneto Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia), Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia. The ambition is to set up "Adriatic energy clusters", thus supporting a good return in terms of economy and employment

During RENEXPO Fair, also an ALTERENERGY stand will be a permanent business meeting point where the project lead partner will present the Adriatic community of renewable energy created within the Strategic Project – funded by the IPA Adriatic Cross-border Programme for 2007-2013 – and the profiles of enterprises sharing the project path, all collected in the “ALTERENERGY Small and Medium Enterprises Catalogue”.

With 12.5 Million Euro total budget, the Strategic Project ALTERENERGY aims to contribute to the European Union’s objectives on climate and energy “20-20-20” through the promotion of sustainable energy in small Adriatic municipalities, improving their capacity to plan and manage integrated actions of energy saving and the production of energy from renewable sources.
