Mediterranean Climate Change Adaptation Awards - first edition: how to apply

The French Agency for Environment and Energy Management (ADEME), in collaboration with its partners, has launched the first edition of the Mediterranean Climate Change Adaptation Awards, a competition whose objective is to develop and showcase solutions for adaptation to climate change in the Mediterranean region. The call for applications will be open until the 16th of September 2016.

Local and regional authorities, public agencies, universities and even NGOs associated with local actors carrying out projects and actions that contribute to the climate change adaptation in the Mediterranean bio-climatic area can present their candidacies.

Candidate projects must fit into one of the three available categories:
• Urban development, infrastructures and buildings
• Ecosystem and natural resources
• Conception methods and public policies implementation

The three winners (one per category) will be announced during the awards ceremony that will take place in November 2016 in the context of the COP22 in Marrakech.
The competition is jointly organised by the French Agency for Environment and Energy Management (ADEME), the Mediterranean Association of the National Agencies for Energy Conservation (MEDENER), the Union for the Mediterranean (UpM), the Mediterranean Commission for United Cities and Local Government (Med Commission CGLU), Pan Bleu and the Mediterranean Experts of Climate Change (MedECC).
