The Unit for Territory Environment and Energy (TEE) is a technical-administrative body which is of great importance for the Regional Committee since it handles with environmental, energy and governmental issues of Marche Region.

This department plays a fundamental role in the environmental and energy planning: Regional Environmental Energy Plan, Plan for the Protection of the Air Quality, Waste Management Plan, Plan for Reclamation of Polluted sites, Recovery Plan for Areas at High Risk of Environmental Crisis. In 2007 this activity was put into action thanks to the approval of the Regional Strategy for Sustainability and its enforcement regarding climate changes with the Regional Plan for Climate.

In strategic activities and developments of European policies, the Unit for Territory Environment and Energy (TEE) relies on the strategic contribution of Sviluppo Marche (SVIM) the Regional Development agency of Marche Region. Sviluppo Marche (SVIM), plays an important role in the implementation of the regional development policy. Its aim is to transform into regional projects both the objectives defined within the ROP (Regional Operative Programme) and the strategic lines deriving from consultation with all organizations concerned. SVIM operates in two directions: development and implementations of projects arising from regional social and economic needs; interventions on international level which can impact at local level such as the implementation of sustainable energy policies.

In this framework since 2006 Marche Region is acting a wide regional and transnational strategy to strengthen competitiveness and sustainable growth of regional socio-economic structure, carrying out several projects within the Interreg III A Adriatic Cross Border Programme, the Interreg NNAP CARDS/PHARE 2004/2006 Program, the Intelligent Energy Europe Program, IPAAdriatic CBC Programme.
