Integrated energy management models, on line 6 publications of Alterenergy - Deliverables WP3

The Alterenergy partnership, with the technical support of ARTI Puglia,  has completed the Analysis  foreseen within the Work Package 3 -  Integrated energy management models – of the Alterenergy Project. It consists of 6 publications aimed at helping the Adriatic small communities to better plan and manage initiatives targeted at improving energy efficiency and renewable energy, according to an integrated approach of global sustainability.

In particular, the “Deliverable 3.1: Technology Survey” gives an overview of technologies and good practices which seem to have major impact on sustainable development of energy sector in the Adriatic area.

The “Deliverable 3.2 Sustainable Communities Survey” describes how technologies and good practices can be integrated and put at work in small communities in order to achieve a higher degree of energetic and environmental sustainability. It presents the analysis of 24 examples of best practices implemented at international level and 43 experiences and success stories undertaken by small communities in the Adriatic Area.

The “Deliverable 3.3 Regulation and Policies Analysis” provides an overview of the existing policies at European, national and regional level that regulate renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors.

The “Deliverable 3.4 Regional Characterization” describes, for each of the ALTERENERGY partner territory, the general conditions that affect the local diffusion of sustainable technologies, presenting the main geographical, demographic and economic data, the energy profile and the main existing energy planning. 

The “Deliverable 3.5 Financial Framework Definition” identifies, at European, national and local level, the existing economic opportunities to finance investments in the field of green economy.

Finally, the “Deliverable 3.6 Integrated Energy Management Guidelines” is a short and easy-to-read guide on the energy action planning  specifically target to administrators and citizens of small communities. It is presented a synthetic survey of possible interventions in four basic sectors of city life (buildings, transports, energy production, urban systems & governance), with some practical examples.

The analysis of WP3 - Integrated energy management models shows that Adriatic RES and EE markets have an high potential and the small communities are a key actor for its sustainability. The Alterenergy partnership hope that the Alternergy project will give a small contribution to the strengthening of a sustainable and integrated Adriatic energy market.
