Friuli Venezia Giulia Region: after the partnership meeting, a series of training activities from March

Fostering energy efficiency and renewable energy in the Adriatic municipalities was the major topic discussed at the important international partnership meeting that was recently closed in Udine in February. The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region organized a 2-day meeting within the Alterenergy Strategic Project, funded by the cross-border Cooperation Programme IPA-Adriatic 2007-2013.

It was a round table meeting (at “Casa della Contadinanza del Castello”) which allowed different representatives of the partner countries to get down to real business with the initiatives and introduction of the measures that each one would like to adopt. This meeting had one common denominator: to facilitate an approach which included efficient use of energy and energy production from renewable sources. This is a major factor for energy efficiency of small locations (villages with less than 10,000 inhabitants) as well as for development of the latter.

During the second day of the meeting, the participants  of partner countries Italy, Albania, Slovenia, Croazia, Serbia , Montenegro, Greece thoroughly examined the activities that could foster the internationalization of the energy sector companies in the Adriatic area. In order to verify market potential in the countries connected by the network, the people in Alterenergy shall will a group of firms in their own areas thus engaging their respective trade organizations.

"The Alterenergy project shall have a positive outcome even from training activities that will start in March (supported by the Region)", said Ms Sara Vito, the council member for the Environment in Friuli Venezia Giulia. In fact, starting from March, a series of training activities shall take place involving energy saving & renewable energy topics in 13 towns in Friuli Venezia Giulia: Forni di Sopra, Verzegnis, Amaro, Cavazzo Carnico, Palmanova, Fagagna, Rive d'Arcano, Muzzana del Turgnano, Pozzuolo del Friuli, Nimis, Chiopris Viscone, Savogna and Majano. The local municipalities have already signed a non-binding agreement related to the above-mentioned Alterenergy project with the Region.
