Local Climate and Energy Actions: Covenant of Mayors updates its guide on financing opportunities

The “Quick Reference Guide on Financing Opportunities for Local Climate and Energy Actions” aims to provide an overview of the different financing programs that support the implementation of cities’ Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans. The guide has been developed by the Covenant of Mayors Office with the support of the European Commission, EASME and the European Investment Bank.

It provides an overview of potential financing solutions: grant-based programs like Horizon2020, financial instruments, structural and investment funds, technical assistance, etc.
As in the previous version, the updated guide shall help local authorities when it comes to seeking for financing possibilities. It includes new features, such as financing provided by intermediaries like the European Investment Bank or local commercial banks.
