ALTERENERGY, 1° Kick-off and partnership meeting in Bari

ALTERENERGY – “Energy Sustainability for Adriatic Small Communities” on the go with the 1° Partnership Meeting in Bari. Following the official start up in September, all the partners of the Strategic Project, financed by the IPA Adriatic Cross-border Cooperation Programme, met for the first time after the approval of the project itself: 18 bodies competent on energy (regions, ministries and public agencies for energy) from Italy (all the Adriatic regions – Puglia Region, Mediterranean Department as Lead partner), Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, Montenegro and Greece.

Purpose of the meeting: informing all the partners about administrative and financial procedures and agreeing the beginning of the project activities, chiefly the Work Package 3 “Integrated Energy Management Models”, necessary to develop the know-how and a common strategy for the definition of the Plan for Energy Sustainability within the communities to be involved into the project.

During the first day, Monday 12 December, Mr Bernardo Notarangelo, Head of the Mediterranean Department of Puglia Region, opened the meeting then leaving the floor to the two representative of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the Programme, who explained thoroughly duties, report rules, administrative and financial management procedures and the Management Information System (MIS), created for the monitoring and financial accounting activities of the Adriatic IPA projects.

During the second day, the Lead partner, with the technical and scientific support of the Agency ARTI Puglia, led the session focused on the inter-partners management model to be undertaken for the good implementation of the project, along with timeframe, expected outcome and role and responsibilities of each partner within the WP3.

ALTERNERGY, which will last four years and can rely on a budget of 12.5 Mln €, aims at promoting the energetic sustainable development of the Adriatic Community. In particular, it aims at promoting energy sustainability in small communities of the Adriatic area, through the integrated and sustainable management of energetic resources and of the production of renewable energy. The project’s goal is to improve the planning and intervention management capacity on energy conservation and production of renewable energy.
