"Geothermal Energy: status and future in the Adriatic region", International Conference in Croatia

The European Center for Science, Art and Culture (ECSAC) and the Trieste International Foundation for Science (FIT), in cooperation with Trieste University and Unione Geotermica Italiana (UGI), are jointly organizing an international conference on "Geothermal Energy: status and future in the Adriatic region", to be held from 30 September to 4 October in Veli Lošinj, Croatia (registration by 16 September).

The Conference would like to stimulate the presentations and discussions of ideas, projects and experiences for the development and sustainable use of the low-temperature geothermal energy resources, in the Peri-Adriatic area (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia).

Five major topics will be tackled in the workshop, each of them presented by a few keynote talks:
1. Geothermal technologies: status and perspectives
2. Low temperature geothermal resource assessment
3. Low temperature geothermal applications
4. Integration of energy sources in the Peri-Adriatic area
5. Regulations, funding, guidelines and sustainability

The meeting is open to everybody active or interested in the research, development and sustainable use of geothermal energy and has no registration fee.
